Ephesians 6:10-18

Perhaps this is more common than we would like to admit.  Do you think you have good handle on the unseen world and can you trust your discernment in this matter?

Paul explains to all of us how to prepare for such moments and it would be worth our while to understand it.  I guess on a practical level you wouldn't be able to carry a football in the NFL without top of the line protective equipment.  In fact, the League wouldn't allow it... it's to risky.  The MLB players aren't allowed to stand in the batter's box without a helmet, nor would they allow the catcher to sit behind the plate without his shin guards, chest protector and face mask.  There's a reason why the leagues require this equipment.

However, we often find ourselves in a Spiritual battle, needing the "FULL ARMOR" of God, but we're dressed for the beach instead.  We wouldn't dare walk out onto the football field, or the baseball field, without the required armor but we carelessly meander onto the spiritual battlefield without one second of preparation or awareness.

Spend today asking God to show you the realities of the unseen world.  Ask Him to confirm in you the need and function of each piece of armor listed by Paul in Ephesians 6:10-18.  God desires "preparation, not perfection."
